Britain’s softer line on muslim Brotherhood comes under growing scrutiny in Europe

Britain’s approach to the Muslim Brotherhood and political Islam is coming under renewed scrutiny as several European countries move to tighten restrictions on Islamist organisations, according to a report by the European Observatory to Combat Radicalisation (EOCR) that says London remains markedly less confrontational than many of its continental partners.

The report byEOCR, a European research initiative focused on radicalisation and counter-terrorism, highlights what it describes as a widening gap between Britain’s policies and those adopted elsewhere in Europe, where security agencies and governments have increasingly portrayed political Islam as a long-term challenge requiring legal, political and ideological responses.

According to the report, British authorities have generally stopped short of treating non-violent Islamist movements as a primary security concern, a position that contrasts sharply with approaches emerging in countries such as Germany and France. EOCRsaid several European governments have intensified monitoring of organisations linked to the Muslim Brotherhood amid concerns that they seek to influence public institutions and shape social norms in ways that could undermine democratic values. Resist Comment.  France and German are right.  The muslim brotherhood and all those associated organisations should be banned, and all people concerned should be deported.  They have no place in British culture.
