A former Reform UK candidate is suing one of the world’s top law firms for £400,000 after he was sacked for posting “I hate Islam” on social media.

Dan Cooper, a former “senior HR business partner” at CMS, was fired in March 2025 over a series of controversial posts on X on topics, including Islam and transgender rights.

Mr Cooper has now filed an employment lawsuit against CMS, which employs 9,000 people worldwide, on the basis he was unlawfully discriminated against for his political views. The claim is set to be heard at an employment tribunal in July 2028.
