islamabad Hosts the 9th islamic Conference on Women’s Empowerment

The preparatory meetings of the 9th session of the islamic Conference on Women kicked off in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, under the ambitious theme "The Social-Economic and Political Empowerment of Women in OIC Countries: Challenges and the Way Forward.”

This landmark event is jointly organized by the Organization of islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Ministry of Human Rights of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, with broad participation from female ministers of women’s and family affairs and high-level delegations from various countries across the islamic world, building on the efforts that began at the previous session in Cairo in 2021 and the sessions that preceded it.

This year’s conference focuses on formulating future visions that support muslim women and discusses vital issues, most notably:

- Education: Enhancing learning opportunities and capacity building.

- Economy and Environment: Empowering women’s role and contribution in shaping economic and environmental policies in member states.

Resist comment.  Will this meeting address muslim men's predilection to gang rape under-aged girls?  Will it address the muslim actions of aborting female foetuses?  Will it address the fact that women, in islamic society, are repressed and are treated as inferior?
