Mayor of New York accuses Israel of genocide – but does not address the culpability of Hamas and Iran

On the third anniversary of Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023 attack, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani used a public statement to condemn Israel, calling it an ongoing genocide and apartheid while linking U.S. arms aid to alleged war crimes. The remarks drew bipartisan backlash from Jewish leaders, elected officials, and Israel’s UN ambassador, who argued the day should honor the victims rather than advance an anti-Israel agenda. The attack killed about 1,200 people and abducted 251, with 49 Americans among the dead and 12 later identified as hostages. Critics warned the speech hijacked a day of mourning to push a political narrative. The episode heightens tensions over tone and accountability in discourse on Israel and Gaza, with implications for Mamdani’s political standing and intercommunal trust going forward.

Resist comment.  If Hamas, backed by Iran, had not attacked Israel on 7th Oct 23 then the Palestinian  state would still  exist and thousands of lives would not have been lost.  As usual islam denies any involvement in what happened.  Mamdani is a despicable person peddling islamic lies.
